Blue hibiscus. A rough-textured shrub to 10’ high with an equal spread and deeply lobed dark green leaves. Blue, 4” hibiscus-like flowers bloom most of the year in coastal climates. We carry the cultivar ‘Santa Cruz’ with dark blue flowers, and continue to experiment with other selections. Full sun or light shade is best, and care should be taken in colder climates as they are not particularly hardy. Drought tolerant when established but best with moderate garden water.
