Pajaroensis manzanita. An open shrub to 10’ with a spreading habit. Bark exfoliates in thin shreds revealing a smooth, dark mahogany surface. Pink flowers bloom from December to February. New foliage unfolds a brilliant coppery-red giving the appearance of a fiery bush when backlit, then slowly fades to bronze tinted with green. This selection is not a reliable performer in heavy soils. Hardy to 15F.
