Unusual round and mounding woody perennial/shrublet with dense wiry branches covered by white, wooly foliage. In summer small bright yellow button-shaped flowers dot the plant like so many pins on a pin cushion (hence the common name). Found naturally in rocky coastal habitats, the cushion bush makes an excellent accent in the beachfront garden. Temperamental in cold, wet winters. May also be listed as Leucophyta brownii.
