Slough sedge. This little used California native produces rich green, arching foliage and dark brown springtime flowering heads. Tolerant of saline soils, boggy areas and full sun, it is more typically used for habitat restoration, but may be put to good use in pond or water gardens. Provide moist soils and regular water.
