This variable dudleya is found along the coast of California from Point Conception to Oregon forming showy colonies on rocky bluffs and headlands. Growing six to twelve inches tall with an equal spread, it typically forms a basal rosette and then grows with a thick branching caudex. Leaf color is variable, some green while other are silver-gray. The leaf margins and tips often color rose to red. Flowering stems appear from late spring to summer and produce bright yellow blooms.
