Low and spreading, to 12”, with narrow, toothed leaves and handsome flowers that open blue then fade to violet-purple. This selection must have full sun or light shade in well-drained soil. A European hybrid developed from P. heterophyllus that commonly persists for 3 or 4 years, it is similar to the species, but with a slightly broader leaf. Common name synonym: Beard tongue
