Sage. Known as Salvia africana-lutea previously, this evergreen shrub grows to 3’ tall with a similar spread, and bears bright yellow flowers surrounded by a tan, papery calyx in spring and summer. The flowers turn a rusty orange as the season progresses, creating a handsome display against the gray-green foliage. Plant in full sun and provide moderate water. A light shearing after flowering helps maintain a tidy shape. Hardy to 20F. South Africa.
