A robust evergreen selection introduced in 1979 by the Huntington Botanical Garden, it has endured because its garden worth has not abated. Rich blue-violet flowers arranged in foot-long spikes bloom from summer till fall and do not fade or lose color even in hot afternoon sun. The medium-green leaves are serrated and aromatic and combine nicely with silver-leafed plants like Artemisia ‘Huntington’ or ‘Silver King’. Plants grow to 4’ with an equal spread. Hardy to 25F.
